Smart Home Specialist/Handyman needed in Manhattan, NY

Salary: $130K to $150K + full benefits (Based on Experience)

Schedule: Full-time, 40+ hours a week, flexibility required (some evenings/weekends)

Travel: Occasional, as needed


A prominent private family in New York City to find a highly skilled and hands-on Smart Home Specialist/Handyman. This is a boots-on-the-ground role focused on maintaining and optimizing the household’s advanced systems and infrastructure. You’ll be part of a fully staffed estate team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations through technical expertise and practical problem-solving.

This is not a management position — we’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys fixing things, and takes pride in keeping systems running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot all smart home and IT infrastructure

  • Support and repair HVAC, AV, security, and network systems

  • Perform general handyman tasks and home repairs

  • Collaborate with estate staff to ensure smooth household operations

  • Assist with system upgrades, installations, and preventative maintenance

  • Provide occasional support during travel or at secondary residences


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong background in IT and smart home technologies

  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems and home automation platforms

  • Hands-on experience with construction, repairs, and mechanical systems

  • Tech-savvy mindset with a passion for problem-solving and innovation

  • Experience in private estates or formal homes (preferred but not required)

  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and schedules
