Compensation & Benefits
• $35–$40/hour (flexible for the right candidate)
• $100 overnight stipend during travel (flexible)

Schedule: 1:30 PM–7:30 PM | 30 guaranteed hours per week
Flexible Options: Monday–Friday, Sunday–Thursday, or Monday–Thursday with occasional weekend support

Position Overview
A warm, down‑to‑earth family in Port Washington / Sands Point is seeking an energetic, organized, and reliable Nanny / Family Assistant to support two school‑age children with special needs and assist with light household tasks. This long‑term role is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a family’s daily rhythm, thrives in an after‑school‑focused schedule, and brings patience, structure, and positivity to their work.
The ideal candidate is confident managing school routines, engaging children through creativity and play, and supporting different learning styles with sensitivity and understanding.
Role Overview
The Nanny / Family Assistant will manage after‑school routines, transportation, activities, homework support, and child‑related household tasks. During the summer, the children attend camp, and responsibilities shift to camp pick‑ups, activity coordination, and continued household support.
The family travels periodically, including an annual extended summer stay out of state. Travel participation is welcomed but not required. When traveling, the schedule remains consistent, with additional overnight compensation. Room‑sharing during travel may occasionally occur.
This role is ideal for someone proactive, adaptable, organized, and genuinely invested in supporting a busy, warm household.
Key Responsibilities
• School and camp pick‑ups; driving children to activities
• Coordinating and supervising playdates
• Homework and academic support
• Providing patient, structured support for children with varying needs
• Engaging children in creative, active, age‑appropriate play
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks
• Children’s laundry and light tidying of their spaces
• Household support such as putting away groceries, emptying the dishwasher, and basic food prep
• Occasional errands when childcare is not required
• Supporting family travel, including overnight stays when applicable
Requirements
• Prior experience working with school‑age children with special needs
• Experience supporting children with attention‑related needs preferred
• Active, patient, emotionally intuitive caregiving style
• Valid driver’s license; confident, safe driver
• Comfortable in a home with pets
• Organized, dependable, proactive, and able to anticipate needs
• Flexible with schedule; open to travel (not required)
• Long‑term mindset and desire to grow with the family
