Live-out Groundskeeper needed in Long Island, NY

Compensation: $35 per hour, overtime eligible after 40 hours/week, full medical insurance, PTO, and 401(k)

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday (two consecutive days off)

Housing: No live‑in required; accommodations available if needed


A New York–based private family is seeking a hard‑working, responsible, and trustworthy Groundskeeper with 5+ years of experience supporting an UHNW household. The ideal candidate maintains exceptional cleanliness standards, is highly organized, and can work independently while collaborating closely with the Leadership Team and Principals. This is a full‑time hourly role requiring 40–50 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays. Flexibility, reliability, and discretion are essential.


Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with outdoor estate maintenance, including pool equipment, lawn care, planting, and fertilizing

• Prepare outdoor areas for seasonal and weather changes, including weatherproofing and securing items

• Support pest‑control efforts to maintain a safe and comfortable environment

• Operate and maintain garden, landscaping, and outdoor equipment

• Assist with estate systems such as HVAC, sprinkler, and irrigation systems

• Support indoor cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, polishing, and washing

• Run errands as needed

• Greet family members and guests upon arrival

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Provide full support for both the Main Estate and additional Long Island properties


Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of outdoor estate equipment, groundskeeping procedures, and proper use on various surfaces

• Foundational understanding of estate maintenance and household systems

• Familiarity with coordinating contract work

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive

• Ambitious, hard‑working, and willing to go above and beyond

• Self‑starter with a hands‑on, proactive approach

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong time‑management skills

• Able to adapt to shifting priorities and changing household needs

• Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of confidential family information

• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

• Personable, diplomatic, cooperative, and poised in daily interactions with staff and guests


Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting a high‑profile or UHNW employer with consistent five‑star service

• Excellent long‑term references

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check
