Compensation: $35 per hour, overtime eligible after 40 hours/week, full medical insurance, PTO, and 401(k)
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, approx. 8am-7pm with some travel
A New York–based private family is seeking a hard‑working, responsible, and trustworthy Housekeeper/Companion to support an elderly lady in her daily routines and home environment. The ideal candidate has years of experience working in UHNW or high‑profile households and demonstrates exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and personal care. This role requires a warm, patient presence and the ability to work independently with professionalism and discretion.
Primary Responsibilities
Personal Care & Companionship
• Assist with daily living activities, ensuring comfort, safety, and emotional well‑being
• Maintain clean, organized personal spaces
• Provide reminders or assistance with medication (as directed)
• Support meal planning, preparation, and light cooking
• Provide formal meal service and beverage preparation when needed
• Accompany the lady to appointments, errands, and social outings
Household Duties
• Daily cleaning, dusting, mopping, polishing, and general upkeep
• Laundry, ironing, and management of dry cleaning
• Assist with light cooking or formal meal preparation
• Receive packages and maintain a delivery log
• Assist with flower arrangements and household organization
• Manage appointment scheduling and calendar coordination
• Answer the house phone and greet family or guests
• Perform additional tasks as requested to support smooth household operations
Qualifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Expertise in cleaning techniques and proper care for fine furnishings and delicate surfaces
• Knowledge of garment care, including handwashing, ironing, stain removal, and steaming
• Ability to prepare simple, healthy meals
• Excellent organizational skills for closets, cabinets, and storage areas
• Ability to drive
• Qualities of honesty, reliability, discretion, and a calm, supportive demeanor
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting a high‑profile or UHNW employer with consistent five‑star service
• Excellent long‑term references
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check
