Full-Time Nanny needed in Brooklyn, NY

A warm and welcoming couple based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their six-week-old daughter and support light household responsibilities. Their home also includes a small, well-behaved dog, so comfort around pets is important. The ideal candidate will be experienced in newborn care, nurturing, proactive, and deeply engaged in early childhood development. A passion for creating enriching, age-appropriate activities is highly valued. The position is full-time, with a flexible start date—ideally in late September, though earlier or later can be accommodated for the right person.


Schedule :

• Monday to Friday, approximately 8 AM to 6 PM (50 hours/week)

• Occasional flexibility for evenings or weekends preferred


Responsibilities

• Ensure the baby’s safety and well-being at all times

• Prepare bottles and meals, feed, and clean up after feeding

• Diaper changes, bathing, and grooming support

• Maintain cleanliness in nursery and shared spaces; manage baby’s laundry

• Monitor and manage baby-related supplies and inventory

• Organize age-appropriate activities and playdates

• Encourage respectful behavior toward pets and others


Compensation & Benefits

• $35–$40 per hour, based on experience

• Health insurance negotiable

• New York paid sick leave

• Vacation time negotiable


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience caring for both toddlers and infants

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with family members

  • Strong references and background in early childhood care

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred

  • Kind, responsible, team player and patient demeanor

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Prior experience caring for newborns in a nanny role

  • Up-to-date on all vaccinations, including COVID and flu

  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

  • Fluent in English; Portuguese is a plus

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development

  • Familiarity with Montessori-style and educational play

  • Warm, supportive, and reliable personality

  • Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback

  • Comfortable with dogs; prior experience a plus

  • Minimum of two excellent, verifiable references

  • Background in early childhood education preferred
