Summer Sous Chef needed in Southampton, NY for April/May Start

Compensation: $400-$500 per day depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits


Schedule: April/May to October 2023, 5-6 days during the including weekends


Formal and fully staffed waterfront property in Southampton is in search of a highly skilled, efficient, capable and highly efficient Sous Chef to work under the family’s long-term chef. Household with very active and busy children and pets. Family entertains quite a bit and holds big events at the property during the Summer.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Food service, stocking, purchasing, and planning for the residence

  • Prepare, provide, and serve lunch and dinner daily to the family and guests

  • Always provide staple snacks and meals for the home

  • Assist with special events held at the residence from small to large-sized dinner parties

  • Follow and/or create weekly menus for employers that meet owner's dietary needs and restrictions

  • Keep running record of favorite meals and recipes

  • Work continuously on new recipes and repertoire

  • Work as part of a residence team

  • Manage all aspects of the kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a high profile family

  • Must have longevity and experience in a similar role

  • Stellar recommendation and verifiable references

  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge in healthy dietary meals

  • Experience in hospitality and event coordination

  • Smart, polished, enthusiastic and positive disposition

  • Tech and computer savvy

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
