Live-out Junior Level Groundskeeper needed in Sands Point, Long Island, NY

Compensation: $35 per hour, OT eligible, PTO, 401K etc.

Schedule: 5-days, 40 - 60 hours a week; Occasional weekends and holidays

Must be Local or live nearby with Reliable Transportation

Position Overview

A private estate in Sands Point is seeking a Junior Level Groundskeeper to support daily outdoor maintenance and property care. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and comfortable working outdoors year‑round. This role is perfect for someone early in their groundskeeping career who is eager to learn, grow, and support a high‑standard private residence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily grounds maintenance, including lawn care, raking, blowing, and debris removal

• Support seasonal property upkeep (snow removal, leaf management, storm prep, etc.)

• Help maintain gardens, walkways, patios, and outdoor structures

• Perform basic outdoor tasks such as watering, weeding, and plant care

• Assist with trash/recycling management and outdoor cleanliness

• Support senior grounds staff with projects and repairs as needed

• Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition

• Follow estate standards for safety, organization, and property presentation

Ideal Candidate

• Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred

• Must live locally or within close proximity to Sands Point

• Reliable transportation required

• Ability to work some weekends and holidays

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Physically able to lift, bend, carry, and perform manual labor

• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow direction

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent long‑term references

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check
