Live-out Household Assistant/Nanny needed in Rye, NY

Compensation & Benefits

• $40-$45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, overtime rate after 40 hours/week, paid sick days

• Four weeks paid vacation (Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year’s, Spring Break, early August)

Schedule:

School Year: Mon–Thurs 7:15–8:30 AM & 2:30 PM–9:45 PM; Fri 2:30–8:00 PM, 40+ hours/week guaranteed

• Flexibility for school holidays, sick days, and occasional later evenings

Summer: Daytime availability

Position Overview

A busy family in Rye, NY is seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Household Assistant/Nanny to work collaboratively with a co‑nanny in caring for four active and sporty preteen and teen‑aged children. The role includes childcare, driving, homework support, and child‑related household tasks, along with occasional overnights when parents travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide before‑ and after‑school care

• Coordinate schedules and activities with co‑nanny

• Drive children to school, sports, lessons, and appointments

• Support homework, studying, and academic routines

• Prepare children’s dinners and snacks

• Assist with evening routines and next‑day preparation

• Pack children for weekends and travel

• Manage children’s laundry, closets, backpacks, and bedrooms

• Maintain tidy common areas and reinforce household rules

• Oversee device usage per family guidelines

• Keep family vehicles clean and fueled

• Communicate with parents and help manage family calendar

• Run errands and provide support when parents travel (1–3 overnights/month)

Qualifications

• Experience with school‑aged children

• Excellent references

• Valid driver’s license; clean driving record

• Non‑smoker; able to pass background check

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

• Reliable, punctual, proactive

•     Highly organized, proactive, and able to multitask in a dynamic environment

•     Professional, discreet, and comfortable working closely with parents

Requirements

•     Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

•     Must have verifiable and stellar references

•     College degree required and a great communicator (written & verbal)

•     Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check

•     Highly organized, proactive, and able to multitask in a dynamic environment

•     Professional, discreet, and comfortable working closely with parents
