Live-out Butler/Houseman needed in Long Island, NY

Compensation: 100K - 120K per year, plus full medical benefits and 401K.

 

Schedule: Live-out, Typically 5 days, will include weekends and some holidays. Flexibility in scheduling to meet the changing demands of the family. From time to time be able to stay overnight as needed.


We are seeking an experienced Houseman/Butler to report to the Estate Manager and provide superior service to an active UHNW family in Nassau County, NY located on a sizeable estate.


 These are the primary goals and objectives of the position:

Specific Responsibilities of the Job:

·         Assist housekeepers with heavy duty and special cleaning

·         Greet and receive family arriving from day, school, or work

·         Works closely with chef in meal preparation, setting and serving for family and frequent formal dinners

·         Drives family or staff, runs errands – as needed

·         Working with Groundskeeper, assist in maintaining outdoor furniture, light fixtures, planters, etc.

Job Requirements/Responsibilities:

·         Minimum of at least 5 years in a private formal home and fine dining.

·         Certifications and or training in household service/hospitality

·         Current & clean drivers licenses

·         Broad knowledge and experience in: 1) observation and attention to principals, anticipating needs 2) meal service and dining room etiquette 3) household maintenance

·         Knowledge and understanding in cleaning of delicate antiques and special surfaces

·         Excellent communication skills and time management

·         Familiar with household mechanical systems and working with the Facilities Manager assists in performing routine inspections as needed

·         General knowledge of kitchen equipment and household appliance operations

·         Experience in wine varietals and wine service

·         Must be comfortable around dogs
