ROSALIE AGUILAR

With over 30 years of experience across Social Work, Domestic Service, Career Development, Customer Service, Community and Social Services, Immigration and Labor Laws, Consulting, Recruiting, and Household Staffing, I bring a uniquely comprehensive perspective to the estate and private staffing industry.

My journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the needs, challenges, and aspirations of both clients and candidates. I’ve built a reputation as a trusted advocate—someone who listens carefully, communicates clearly, and makes placements that last. My approach is rooted in compassion, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.

Whether I’m guiding families through the hiring process or mentoring candidates to present their best selves, I take pride in creating thoughtful matches that foster long-term success. My goal is simple: to elevate the standard of private service through meaningful connections and professional support.

What Domestic Staffing Recruiters Really Do

After 24 years of counseling candidates and families in the domestic staffing world, I’ve had a front-row seat to the magic—and occasional mayhem—of what we recruiters actually do. Spoiler alert: it’s not just sipping coffee while skimming résumés. As my Inang (grandma) always said, “There’s always more to it.” And she’s absolutely right.

In domestic and personal service, we’re matchmakers with a sixth sense. We don’t just connect people to jobs—we connect personalities to lifestyles. Whether we’re placing a nanny in a Manhattan penthouse or a house manager in a sprawling estate, we’re thinking about chemistry, discretion, mental capacity and skill set.

Depending on our setup, we might work in-house for a private family office (think: one household, all the hires), or through boutique agencies that juggle multiple clients with wildly different needs. Some of us specialize in executive-level placements, sourcing highly-qualified candidates for roles like personal assistants, estate managers, or chiefs of staff.

Our day-to-day? It’s a mix of detective work, diplomacy, and divine patience. We review résumés with laser focus—not just for experience, but for strong etiquette, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt to situations with zero notice. We screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage communication like seasoned air traffic controllers. When we believe in someone, we advocate fiercely. And when an offer rolls in, we help navigate negotiations, contracts, and onboarding with grace and clarity.

But here’s the real deal: we’re not gatekeepers—we’re career allies. When candidates build a genuine relationship with us, we become their backstage pass to opportunities they didn’t even know existed. We’ll remember their name when the perfect role pops up. We’ll coach them through interviews. We’ll speak up for them in rooms they’ll never enter. And in an industry where reputation is worth its weight in gold, that kind of support is priceless.

So next time you’re talking to a recruiter, remember: we’re not just part of the process—we’re part of your success. Be kind, be clear, and be patient. And I always say that "Things happen for a reason and what is meant to be will be." And if you ever forget how layered this work really is, just remember what my Inang (grandma) always said: “There’s always more to it.”
