Estate Manager needed in Long Island, NY

Compensation: 150-170K salary a year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus full benefits, 401K etc.


Schedule: Five days, minimum of 40-50 hours work week, Fully flexible schedule with nights, weekends, and holidays available as needed.


We are seeking a seasoned Estate Manager with superb leadership skills who will be the trusted go-to person responsible for the smooth operation and administration of a private estate situated on the North Shore of Nassau County, NY, working to support an active and engaging family.


This individual will foster and develop a respectful, professional, and political-free environment which is consistent

with a culture of collaboration, teamwork, exceptional service, and attention to detail. In addition, the Estate

Manager will be responsible for the development and communication of policies and procedures that will ensure

the comfort, safety and security of the principals, the staff, and all guests.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Personally provide, and lead a high performing team who acts with integrity and provides consistent 5-star service to the principals and their guests

  • Oversee maintenance, overall appearance, organization and cleanliness of the primary estate and various residences and grounds, including all its contents

  • Act as single point of contact for the principals on all household related matters, the entire property, including its systems and the grounds

  • Vendor management: identification of new vendors, assessment of current vendor performance and recommendation of other cost-effective alternatives to address household repairs and services

  • Provide prior notification to the family and staff of the scheduling of events and estate maintenance/repair activities

  • Create policies, standard operating procedures/protocols, and reference manuals, as well as communication and training of these to staff and all other interested parties

  • Maintain household inventories, stocking including the bars and wine cellars

  • Oversee all aspects of small gathering events at the estate

  • Oversee the planning of large social engagements in and outside of the estate, including venue selection,

  • food & beverage, decor, floral, entertainment, etc.

  • Leadership, training, hiring, and management of the household staff, including supervision of all daily activities of the staff

  • Maintain all household calendars

  • Oversee staff scheduling and manage overtime to provide work/life balance for team members

  • Oversight for all automobiles

  • Oversee major renovation, design, construction, land altering projects, as requested

  • Oversee the care of art, antique and other collections as requested

  • Act as liaison between employers and curators as needed

  • Oversight and care for the household pets


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


• Minimum of a High School degree or equivalent

• Minimum of at least 15 years of experience in a private formal home

• Certifications and/or training in household service/hospitality

• Current & clean driver’s license
