Houseman/Butler needed in Long Island, NY

Salaried position: 100K range depending on experience and qualifications. Plus Full benefits with health insurance, PTO and 401K are offered.


Schedule: 5 days on site and 24/7 on call. The position requires full flexibility in schedule and is subject to change based on family needs.


Formal and fully staffed household on a sizeable estate is seeking an experienced Houseman/Butler to provide superior service to an active UHNW family in Nassau County, NY, to maintain the smooth operations of the home in the afternoon and evening. To promote a safe, secure and healthy workplace. Delivers high level of service to the family and their guests. Maintains a professional and respectful work relationship with the team. Participate in a workplace culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.


Specific Responsibilities of the Job: • Assist housekeepers with heavy duty and special cleaning • Greet and receive family arriving from day, school, or work • Works closely with chef in meal preparation, wine pairing, setting and serving for family and frequent formal dinners • Working with Groundskeeper, assist in maintaining outdoor furniture, light fixtures, planters, etc. • Assist housekeepers as needed with general housekeeping and heavy-duty special projects • Greet and receive family arriving from day, school, or work • Works closely with chef for kitchen operations, sets and serves dinner (both family and formal) • Drives family or staff, runs errands in a safe and secure manor • Maintains outdoor furniture, light fixtures, planters, walkways, etc. • From time to time be able to stay overnight as needed


Job Requirements • Minimum of at least 3 years in a private formal home and/or fine dining and luxury hotels. • Certifications and or training in household service/hospitality • Current & clean drivers licenses • Excellent communication skills and time management • An aptitude and desire to learn the finer points of Private Service • Familiar with household mechanical systems and working with the Facilities Manager assists in performing routine inspections as needed • Experience in wine varietals and wine service • Must be comfortable around dogs
