Compensation: Starting at $150,000/year + health stipend

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday or Wednesday–Sunday, 60 hours a week, Live-out

Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel required

Position Overview

A high-profile, active family in Westchester County is seeking a highly educated, experienced, and professional Governess/Nanny to provide exceptional care and educational support for their toddler and school-aged child. Looking for candidates who are deeply knowledgeable in child development, thrive in structured environments, and have a proven track record working in formal private households.


Core Responsibilities

• Provide attentive after-school care and full-day weekend coverage

• Manage school pickups/drop-offs, extracurriculars, playdates, and enrichment activities

• Develop and maintain structured routines and age-appropriate developmental plans

• Foster a love of learning through engaging, educational activities

• Maintain organized and well-stocked children’s areas (clothing, supplies, books, toys)

• Handle light administrative tasks related to the children (schedules, school communications)

• Serve as a positive role model, promoting emotional growth, independence, and manners

• Collaborate closely with parents and household staff

• Support the family during travel, ensuring consistency and care across locations


Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a formal private household as a Governess, Private Educator, or Nanny

• Deep understanding of child development and educational best practices

• Calm, discreet, and professional demeanor with excellent boundaries

• Highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate family needs

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and travel demands

• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and comfortable with background checks
