Assistant Facilities Manager needed between Long Island, NY and Upper Manhattan

Compensation: 130 -150K annual salary depending on experience and qualifications plus full medical benefits, 401K etc.

 

Schedule: Live-out, 5 days, 50 hours a week minimum, occasional sleep-over, some weekends and holidays included. Flexibility in scheduling to meet the changing demands of the family.


Overview

This position focuses on maintaining a residence's functionality, cleanliness, and organization while working closely with the Estate/House Manager. It demands flexibility, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to meet family needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • General upkeep: Cleaning, minor repairs, reporting maintenance issues, and daily coordination with the Estate/House Manager.

  • Outdoor maintenance: Seasonal tasks such as power washing, pool care, and landscape upkeep.

  • Technical support: Troubleshooting systems (e.g., HVAC, AV, security) and handling minor repairs.

  • Personal service: Assisting with family errands, pet care, and events.

  • Inventory and tools: Tracking inventory and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles.

  • Quality assurance: Overseeing vendors, ensuring system functionality, and protecting family confidentiality.

  • Gatekeeping: Managing visitors, deliveries, and communication.


Requirements: 

  • Minimum of at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Current & clean drivers licenses 

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • General knowledge of kitchen equipment and household appliance operations

  • Must be comfortable around dogs 

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, technical knowledge (e.g., HVAC, electronics),

  • Discretion, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Flexibility is essential for schedule adjustments and varying tasks.
